I started working with the Ocasa team a year ago on a temporary basis. My experience really developed over this time and as the portfolio grew and I became closer to the rest of the team, they offered me a permanent position.
I’ve always lived in the Northeast and I love it here, I really like that my role as an Assistant Property Manager allows me to get out and explore the local areas in the Northeast and Yorkshire. I’m not shy about getting my daily steps in as well - I’ve just finished building a gym in my garage!
There’s never a dull moment at Ocasa, and each day is different. One day I might be arranging viewings and creating tenancy agreements, the next I could be talking with our residents. I think it’s a really important part of the job to enjoy the dynamism of it and move from one thing to the next.
The team here are great, they are always really supportive and happy to help if you ever need anything. Working through the COVID-19 situation certainly came with challenges, but we really rallied together and it just goes to show how lucky we are to work with such a good team.
I would say go for it! It’s not always about the skills you have right now, having the right attitude is key. We get a lot of training on the job, so you’ll always have the opportunity to grow your skills as long as you have the right mindset.
